It was honours even in this pre-season friendly at Jenkins Park on Saturday afternoon, with Torpoint’s Ryan Richards and Millbrook’s Jake Foster both getting a brace each in front of a decent crowd of 205 in this pre-season derby.
On the 20th minute, Tom Payne for the hosts had a shot from outside the area, that hit the post and visiting keeper Jason Peters palmed the ball away.
Four minutes later Ryan Richards put visitors in front when he shot home a low curling ball from 12 yards after a Curtis Damerell cross set him up.
Just after the half-hour mark, the visitors had a great chance to double their lead when Callum Thompson put a great cross into Pete Bradley who headed just wide of the far post.
Four minutes after the restart Richards again broke free for the visitors, he took a low shot which was well saved by Sam Borthwick the home keeper.
Only a minute later Curtis Damerell shot home for the visitors from 15 yards after some good build-up play to double Torpoint’s lead.
On the 65th minute, Ben Holter for the home side headed home from a free-kick to reduce the arrears.
Then with 11 minutes left of the match, Jake Foster ran through the visiting defence and shot low from 15 yards to level the scores.
On the 82nd minute, Ryan Richards got his brace and put Torpoint in front again when he shot home with a low angle shot.
Finally two minutes later Jake Foster headed home to get his double from a corner to level the scores again and complete the scoring at Jenkins Park in this pre-season match.
