Bridgwater United, formerly Bridgwater Town, have competed in the Southern League South as recent as 2016/17 when they were relegated to the Western League. They have finished in the top 5 in three of the four complete seasons since their relegation and finishing 8th in the other season.
Bridgwater had an impressive run in last season’s FA Vase making it all the way to the 5th round losing to eventual winners, Ascot United, 1-0.
This term, United find themselves sitting in 3rd place going into today’s game picking up 6 wins, a draw and one loss in their eight league outings so far. Bridgwater have won their last 4 games in the league and had county cup success away to Middlezoy Rovers last time out, winning 3-1. Jack Thorne is currently sitting top of scoring charts this season with 13 goals, three ahead of our own, Ryan Richards.
‘Point travel to Fairfax Park off the back of their own county cup success vs St Dennis in the week and a controversial draw last weekend against local rivals, Saltash United. New signing, Ryan Rickard, will be looking to make his league debut, and carry on from his clean sheet on Wednesday, after his recent signing from Bodmin town.
